In my home, conjunctivitis in cats is the prize everybody wins whenever we have foster kittens. I’m glad that my cats take on the task of licking the babies’ bums and faces, because I’m not doing it.
Unfortunately, it often means spreading of minor infections like conjunctivitis, which is the inflammation of the eyelid and sometimes eyeball. The very first sign of cat pink eye is when a cat gets a “winky” eye. Next it swells up, turns pink and oozes pus. Serious complications like blindness can occur if conjunctivitis in cats goes untreated for too long, so make sure you hit the vet before it gets gross.
The kittens in the video are on the last day of antibiotics for cat pink eye. Their eyes are back to normal, so check out the Internet if you want to see how bad it can get.
